THE HOUSEROCKERS
Onstage: 21.30hrs
Fronted by the outstanding singer / harmonica player Dana Dixon and acclaimed Blues and Slide guitarist Dave Dixon, the band play a mixture of authentic Texas & Chicago blues, tough R&B and superb original numbers.
Since their formation and the launch of their critically acclaimed debut album “Boogie Woman”, the band have garnered fantastic reviews from the British and overseas press for both their recorded work and excellent live act.
Arguably one of the most exciting live acts in Britain today, the band have played at practically every major blues festival in Britain and Ireland, and perform in blues venues up and down the UK, Europe and USA including sell out shows for 3 years running at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2009 – 2011)
In the many reviews she has received, Dana has been likened to many of the blues greats – Koko Taylor, Big Mama Thornton, Maggie Bell and Janis Joplin – with much emphasis placed on her powerful vocals and harmonica skills.
Dave Dixon, whose guitar playing “has to be seen to be believed”, is an official endorsee of Gibson guitars (USA), and Rotosound strings (UK).
As a result of the band’s talent and reputation, they were chosen to represent Britain at the 2001 International Blues Challenge held in Memphis USA and invited to play on stage at BB Kings club on Beale Street.
The band are available for festivals, clubs, private functions etc, and are also available to perform at musical workshops and clinics.
The bands New Album ‘OLD, NEW, BORROWED AND BLUE’ was released in April 2011 and is receiving national radio airplay.

ROSY BLUE
Onstage 19.00hrs
Since 2002, Rosy Blue has proved to be one of Scotland’s most popular and exciting blues bands. Led by Rosie Nimmo’s smouldering vocals and Stuart Allardyce’s stinging guitar work, the five piece put their unique spin on early blues through to rock, soul and modern classics as well as showing off their own accessible material. The band have regularly played at several Scottish festivals such as the Edinburgh and Glasgow Jazz and Blues festivals and the Dundee Blues Bonanza along with national events such as blues festivals at Maryport and Colme. As well as tearing up the place with infectious rock and boogie, Stuart and Rosie also have a side project (the Rosy Blue duo) which reveals their jazzier side showcasing swinging standards and intimate jazz re-arrangements of popular classics. The band are preparing to record their second album and are getting ready for a hectic summer of gigs and touring!
