The guys from Black Dog Days are in the studio throughout the year working on new material. With headline shows under their belt across Scotland the band played their first sold out headline show at King Tuts Glasgow late June 2017. Along with recording their first album they have been performing at some small festivals like Gig in the Goil and the Pumpherston music festival to name a few and hope to progress to larger festivals over the years. JOURNEY NORTH

Onstage 21.30hrs

Journey North are a five piece rock band from Tayside and Fife, Scotland.

Drawing on their wide variety of musical backgrounds they combine the storytelling traditions of Scottish music with the dynamics of a rock band.

Formed in late 2015 they released their debut album “The Calm before the Storm” in April 2016. Tracks from the album received airplay on a number of radio stations in the UK and overseas.

A personnel change saw the introduction of bagpipes to their sound and they returned to the studio to record the acoustic based “Calm Sessions” album. This album reworked some tracks from their debut alongside two new songs and was only available online.

Playing live is what the band love to do most of all. They are rapidly gaining a reputation for their dynamic performances and their near telepathic interplay means every gig brings something new. They have played live on Celtic Music Radio

Their recently released new album “Dance Towards Tomorrow Smiling” captures a band on the rise and shows the breadth of styles which makes up their live shows.

Physical copies of the album available at gigs and via their website also contain the Calm Sessions CD.

They are winning a rapidly growing arm of followers with appearances at Montrose Music Festival and Portsoy Boat Festival, Eilean Dorcha Festival, Galarocks and supporting Tide Lines at Forfar’s Reid Hall.
