DIRTY SOUND MAGNET
ONSTAGE: 00:30
Dirty Sound Magnet is a psychedelic rock power trio from Fribourg, Switzerland. The band’s DNA can be traced back to the ancestral ‘Golden Age of Rock’ (60s, 70s), but it would be incorrect to think that DSM is…“retro”. The musicians are inspired by contemporary artists and modern production techniques; pushing the boundaries as they see fit. The results are personal, unique and original.
Simply put: the Dirty Sound Magnet experience is a mystical journey back to the future…
In 2017, DSM released its third album, Western Lies, with Berlin-based label Noisolution. The results were instantaneous, with the band winning an award in the category of “best Swiss rock song” for their single ‘Homo Economicus’. Between 2017 and 2019 the band toured relentlessly, playing over 200 shows in various countries, including Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
This hectic lifestyle didn’t diminish the creative output of the band, as the musicians decided to record a whole new album in the summer of 2018. What followed was an entire year spent producing their most ambitious and epic work to date, with sessions taking place across two tours and even on the road. The album, titled Transgenic, will be released on the 18th of October.
For Fans of: Tame Impala, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, MGMT, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Frank Zappa, The Young Gods, Jethro Tull, Neil Young, Black Sabbath.

THE HOUSEROCKERS
Onstage 19.00hrs
Fronted by the outstanding singer / harmonica player Dana Dixon and acclaimed Blues and Slide guitarist Dave Dixon, the band play a mixture of authentic Texas & Chicago blues, tough R&B and superb original numbers.
Since their formation and the launch of their critically acclaimed debut album “Boogie Woman”, the band have garnered fantastic reviews from the British and overseas press for both their recorded work and excellent live act.
Arguably one of the most exciting live acts in Britain today, the band have played at practically every major blues festival in Britain and Ireland, and perform in blues venues up and down the UK, Europe and USA including sell out shows for 3 years running at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2009 – 2011)
In the many reviews she has received, Dana has been likened to many of the blues greats – Koko Taylor, Big Mama Thornton, Maggie Bell and Janis Joplin – with much emphasis placed on her powerful vocals and harmonica skills.
Dave Dixon, whose guitar playing “has to be seen to be believed”, is an official endorsee of Gibson guitars (USA), and Rotosound strings (UK).
As a result of the band’s talent and reputation, they were chosen to represent Britain at the 2001 International Blues Challenge held in Memphis USA and invited to play on stage at BB Kings club on Beale Street.
The band are available for festivals, clubs, private functions etc, and are also available to perform at musical workshops and clinics.
The bands New Album ‘OLD, NEW, BORROWED AND BLUE’ was released in April 2011 and is receiving national radio airplay.
Testimonials:
“Dana’s vocals rock! Guitarist Dave is smoking! We love this band!” – The Blues Foundation (USA)
“The Dana Dixon Band relied on talent and style, two things they have in abundance…We were rocked in our seats by Dana’s harmonica playing and dynamic voice…Dana has enough talent to carry any band, and Dave Dixon is one of the best Blues guitarists you are likely to see” – Edinburgh Evening News (UK)
“Dana belts out tough R&B…her gravelly voice recalls Big Mama Thornton and Janis Joplin” – Blues Revue (USA)
Dana Dixon’s timing and delivery are hard to beat…her vocals have a raw feeling, yet her control is near perfection…this is someone who sings the blues with feeling” – Blues Alive Magazine (Japan)
“Dana is a full blooded, leather lunged blues growler a la Koko Taylor…a wonderfully soulful performance…outstanding slide playing…a band to look out for” – Blueprint (UK

Up and coming singer song-writers, Chris Sesar and Gill Halliday have been rapidly gaining recognition for their genre defying repertoire, effortlessly blending Celtic folk and roots & country music with a brush of gypsy jazz.
Chris Sesar’s songs paint the landscape of human relationships with gentle colours and delicate detail, sometimes bitter sweet, sometimes dark and with a comic twist.
Since March 2016 Chris has been touring Scottish Venues with Angus based singer songwriter Gill Halliday.
Her intuitive use of wind instruments adds a layer of depth and versatility to the performance whilst her powerful voice delivers songs with heartfelt honesty.
Individually, Chris and Gill are both brilliant vocal performers. Their harmonies, however, are nothing short of mesmerising.

EMILY & THE FEDORAS
Onstage: 21.30hrs
In 2012, Emily Streete and Michael Grant began jamming together as Drive. After a few gigs around Edinburgh they realised that all the songs that they wanted to perform required horns. As awesome as Mike’s face melting guitar solos are, they decided that musically, they were going to need a bigger boat. In March 2013, two became eight: Emily and The Fedoras were formed. With a shared passion for a bygone era where the grooves were as cool as the clobber, the band began reworking classic Soul, Motown and Classic Rock hits.
As the set list grew and gigs became plentiful, word got out about the band’s infectious energy and onstage banter; Their image alone makes you feel like you’re part of a special event, and they back it up with talent and a real desire to give you a special performance. Keith Easton Manager, The Wel – Edinburgh Rehearsal and Creative Facility.
On the back of the success of their performance at the Festival Theatre Studio in 2013, the band were asked back the following year and were met with a roaring reception.
In the summer of 2014, Emily and The Fedoras recorded their first EP at The Rec Room Ltd in Edinburgh and also performed in Freestival as part of The Edinburgh Fringe. They frequently gig around Edinburgh and have a regular slot at the live music venue Whistlebinkies where they’ve been met with a roof raising reception.
Emily and The Fedoras bring a classic retro style to any party and relish the opportunity to whip the crowd into a frenzy!

RADIO PACHUCO
Onstage: 21.30hrs
Radio Pachuco began its musical life as a classic swing and jazz band. However, influences of the 1950’s, classic film themes and current music began to inspire the band. Combining their love of old and new music, Radio Pachuco offered up “pop-swing” by remastering modern favourites into vintage style tunes which sit happily alongside jazz standards. Old and young find themselves dancing the night away in their own personal nostalgia. ”
Inspired by the internet sensation Postmodern-jukebox, Radio Pachuco have both covered and arranged a large number of modern songs in vintage swing style. The popularity of this “modern-swing” has seen the band perform at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh International Conference Centre and as the house band for the premier of Hyena at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Their lively set has something for everyone to enjoy – whether you are looking for the classics of Benny Goodman, the guitar solos of Chuck Berry or perhaps, the unlikely swing covers of a cheesy 90s favourite!

THE HOUSEROCKERS
Onstage: 21.30hrs

ROSY BLUE
Onstage 19.00hrs
Since 2002, Rosy Blue has proved to be one of Scotland’s most popular and exciting blues bands. Led by Rosie Nimmo’s smouldering vocals and Stuart Allardyce’s stinging guitar work, the five piece put their unique spin on early blues through to rock, soul and modern classics as well as showing off their own accessible material. The band have regularly played at several Scottish festivals such as the Edinburgh and Glasgow Jazz and Blues festivals and the Dundee Blues Bonanza along with national events such as blues festivals at Maryport and Colme. As well as tearing up the place with infectious rock and boogie, Stuart and Rosie also have a side project (the Rosy Blue duo) which reveals their jazzier side showcasing swinging standards and intimate jazz re-arrangements of popular classics. The band are preparing to record their second album and are getting ready for a hectic summer of gigs and touring!
