Jamie & Shoony don't mess around, they are an urban indie punk quartet that exhilarate audiences when ever they play their full throttle and exuberant live shows. Their ballsy anthems have them making waves in Scotland and collecting a loyal fanbase. In 2015 they played to sell out crowds in some of the country's finest venues such as O2 ABC, Kings Tuts, The Electric Circus and Saint Lukes. They won the title of 'Best Live Act' at both The Prowlers and The Local Music Scene Awards but the main highlight of the year was playing to over 8,000 people at Linlithgow's Party at The Palace supporting Nile Rodgers with CHIC. The lads are set to release their highly anticipated debut E.P. in early 2016 with a nationwide tour which includes a date playing Glasgow's infamous Barrowlands in March with the Clutha Trust for a Yellow Movement special alongside Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5. In a ninja like fashion they get the crowd hooked at every opportunity with their infectious presence and boundless energy they turn every show into one big party.
Go see them for yourself and just try not to dance, We dare you.
They are a party at its most outrageous and ridiculous. Like a Dean Martin and Kenny Rogers hybrid with the DNA of Bob Marley and Neil Diamond on mushrooms! Their live show has included crowdsailing in a rubber dinghy, crowdsurfing on inflatable alligators, laughter yoga, hug-offs, dance-offs in a giant hay bird nest, singalongs about dancing in gay discos and being heartbroken by ginger people, line dancing and high 5ing to the beats. Always expect the unexpected when the Dijon 5 come to town! The audience are an integral part of the band. They are the legendary 6th Dijon!
The Black Diamond Express
The Black Diamond Express are an eight-piece band from Leith, Edinburgh. Who fittingly take their name from a train that was the subject of Rev A. W. Nix 1927 sermons. Their sound is essentially an amalgamation of Celtic and American roots styles. But rather than be an imitation of some bygone era, they offer an inventive take on the old music and collectively produce a sound that is truly theirs alone, the personification of the aforementioned fast flying vestibule. The band excel in live performance working the dynamics of the ensemble, showcasing slide guitar, fiddle, layered vocals, harmonica, and a pounding rhythm section. Listening to the songs you will hear echoes of the chain gang, plaintive melodies, gospel hymns and gut-buckets, noir narratives and tall tales, truth and fiction in equal measure. Board the train and be transported.
