Radio Pachuco came into being in 2011 as the house band for Saturnalia cabaret, an ill-fated production involving some of Scotland's great performers. As such they had to provide the background music for burlesque acts, feats of hypnosis and even a fakir hammering a nail into his head. Certainly not a squeamish band. As time has passed Radio Pachuco have become a tight 6-piece ensemble, playing a mix of swing classics, jazz numbers and songs of the 1950's. Shying away from tired crooner material, their cool and fast-paced performance is a mix between Cole Porter and Etta James, and singer Sophie Adams' voice will make you want to rummage through your grandparents' record collection.
Elwood is a professional 3-piece band based in Central Scotland with over 20 years combined experience in the live entertainment industry. With an extensive set list ranging from rock ‘n’ roll, classic disco and motown to heavy rock, blues and contemporary floor-fillers.
Lonehead play a kind of Indie Pomp Punk Rock, only without the pomp. However categorised, it is Classic in its own right. The fruit of this grafting and crafting is the release of their latest recordings as an EP with the tempting promise of an album to come soon. Recorded and produced to a superbly high sonic standard it features the brilliant songs Jazz Killer, Artform, Bubblerap, and Sweet Sound. The songs are all lyrically pithy and musically instantly captivating. This EP is currently the number one choice, and set to repeat, for any journey in the Rockmobile. And the favourite destination for said vehicle is any gig featuring Lonehead.
Parody aside, Lonehead are a musical force to be reckoned with. Without a word of hyperbole the gigs magically transform venues into electrified high-energy Rock parties. New fans are created wherever they play. The atmosphere generated is stunning. The recordings recently released are exceptional.
Lonehead are World Class.
