Heartbreak Motor Oil
Heartbreak Motor Oil – cosmic soul n’ roll. Thrill seekers and soundscape reapers look no further, as this is a message from the future, past and present. Soul is where we reach, rock n’ roll is what we preach, all wrapped up in the classic but forever forward thinking format of electric guitar (Jon Mackenzie, Holy Ghosts) electric bass (Jonny Voodoo, Black Cat Bone) and drums (James Grant, Macanta). Experience groovy covers played different, funk, rhythm and blues, jazz and freedom. From Hank to Hendrix, from Muddy to MC5, from us to you. Let Heartbreak Motor Oil set you free! Terms and conditions apply.
The Carloways are a young, 5-piece band from Bridge of Earn, Scotland. Influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash and The Rolling Stones, their style is a mixture of modern Rock 'n' Roll and good old Country music. Since December 2014 they have settled in to a fixed line-up and have been focusing on writing music, performing as much as possible and having a good time!
Named after a small place on the Isle of Lewis, the band have been playing countless gigs for the last few months, finding their sound and building a reputation as a feel-good, party rock and roll band.
Since deciding to take music seriously, the band have played up and down Scotland, performing in some of their home country's best music venues (and perhaps.. some of it's worst). The band made their debut festival appearance at Americana Cavalcade in June 2015, also launching their debut single the same day. The band received an astonishing reception from a packed out crowd. In their first year the band has also performed extremely successful slots at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (Potting Shed Stage and Inchyra Arts Stage) and Southern Fried Festival, both times to a brilliant response.
In summer 2015 members of the band went on tour as the backing band for Nashville songwriter Tom Mason, travelling from Cornwall to the highlands of Scotland.
